My Dwelling Place |
This design,
My Dwelling Place, is marked pattern #100 in the full size version of our designs. It is not
actually our 100th pattern as we have many others in different lines such as the ornaments and a line called
Simple Samplers. But a friend had asked if I was planning anything special for pattern #100 and I said no. However the more I thought about it the more I thought I should. So I switched this one from September to August and labeled it with the magic number. Hopefully it will have a special meaning for you as it did for me when I designed it. Leave me a comment and I will use the random number generator to choose a winner for this chart on Friday morning. Just leave a comment that has anything to do with the design and how it makes you feel or what it means to you (or something like that!).
Happy Stitching,
Diane
I have already preordered this one. I can't wait to stitch it. I feel that way about you patterns. I went through my stash the other day and I could not believe how many I already have kitted and ready to go. My fingers need to go faster. thanks for sharing your talent. Cindy Johnson
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely design! Of course it means so much -- after all, my home is my haven, my stitching heaven, my library. It's the place my kids will come home to when they're off on their own. It's where my other half dwells too. Thanks for such a lovely piece, and the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThis is the perfect design for your #100th pattern (in this series)!!! I love it and I also love the frame! I wouldn't have guessed either that the frame was upside down! I love your newsletter!
ReplyDeleteI love this design...I will be realistic I LOVE all your patterns. I would love a chance to win one. Thanks so much. Pat
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful design Diane!
ReplyDeleteI also love when old samplers have these kind of verses on them. I always wonder if the Stitcher ever imagined their work would be seen & treasured many years into the future. I also love how it gives me a look into the past.
I love the colors you've chosen and how each little element (house, crow, flowers, flag, stars) work together to make one very cozy and warm looking design. It is quickly becoming my new favorite! I have several of your designs completed and hanging on my walls, and they are always the ones I get the biggest compliments on!
ReplyDeleteHi Diane, I love this piece. I would change the date to 2005 as that is the year we bought our first home. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteLinda
I love that this design is stitched over one and has a patriotic feel to it. I plan to stitch this one becasue I live in an older home built in 1876 and thought it felt appropriate.
ReplyDeleteGreat new design! It makes me feel nostalgic, patriotic, serene, and at home. I know just where to place it...
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful design.
ReplyDeleteFantastic to celebrate your #100th+ pattern.
I'd love one.
Gina
I love that design! It screams home, patriotic...good old USA.
ReplyDeleteomg forgot to tell you why I was so inspired by your pattern.
ReplyDeleteI bought my 'retirement' place and am just making little things that will make that house a home.
This is such an adorable embroidery and sure it will make a place a home.
Gina
Congrats on 100 designs Diane! I look forward to 100 more! Take care, Meagan
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful design - I like the flag especially - this is a 'must' to stitch..
ReplyDeleteI love your new pattern and can't wait to get it when it hits the shops, not unless I win it here first.
ReplyDeleteI saw this in your newsletter and thought of how to personalise it immediately so it can hang in my hall, a wonderful piece to welcome people to our home I think.
Its like the old saying no place like HOME. Our HAVEN where we can sit and sew, watching the black bird in the garden and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteJust love the chart.
Another fab pattern - I am slowly but surely getting all the LHN charts and of course the CCN ones :) Keep up the good work x
ReplyDeleteWow ... another wonderful pattern and this is the number 100!!!!

Google won't let me leave a comment under my name, but I have left my email address.
I just love samplers especially those with houses which pretty much translates that I like all of yours
ReplyDeleteI love this design....the tall house, the flag, the border. It is a keeper to say the least!
ReplyDeleteI'd love a chance. Your designs always make me feel 'peaceful' and 'at home'.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great pattern. Thanks for offering the chance to win it.
ReplyDeleteI love the new design but then most of your designs are wonderful. I like the bird and the 'willow' tree. It would be lovely to have a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI do love this design.....to me it makes me feel comfortable, safe and at home.
It's a must have.
Carol E
I like this pattern most because it has an American flag on it. Wherever it is that I call "My Dwelling Place", I want it to have a flag hanging in a place where passers by might see it.
ReplyDeleteWe have a neighbor who's son it abroad defending our country. I have seen her return from work every day to park her car in the driveway, hang her flag and water her fern. She's so proud of her son and I might stitch this one for her!
Thanks for the chance to win this chart. I love all your designs!!!
Another beautiful design..I'd love a chance to win. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this design! Looking forward to many more!
ReplyDeleteLinda C.
I really like the house on this one...and Old Glory proudly waving in the wind. A little group of stitchers that I am part of has a challenge to make a basketful of patriotic designs small enough to make into pin pillows by next July, and I am amazed at how many Little House designs are back out in the light of day again.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Bobbi in Ohio
I really love the droopy tree over the flowers. The two together look unexpectedly cheerful.
ReplyDeleteThis design means many things to me. It's so peaceful, wyhich makes me think of one translation of the 23rd Psalm that says "And in God's house, forevermore, my dwelling place shall be." With the flag, it also is a reminder of the wonderful country we call home. It's also very welcoming, a place where I'd like to go, sit under the tree by the flowers, and listen to the bird sing while I stitch! Thanks for giving it to one of us; I'm sure whoever receives it will enjoy every stitch.
ReplyDeletewhych??? my fingers meant to type which!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 100th1
ReplyDeleteI love this chart! I am very fond of anything patriotic and the little flag is so lovely! I also love the bird and I know I'd enjoy stitching this! Thanks! fnelson1@comcast.net

Any design with the American Flag in it is one to add to the stash pile. This design is great. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI love your designs and this one is no exception. I love being in my home and working on things to make my house a cozy dwelling.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this pattern!
Lola In NW Minnesota
What a gorgeous design! It reminds me of my home in Missouri, growing up. It also reminds me of my current home, which is my favorite place to be! Thanks so much for the chance to win.
ReplyDeletebeautiful design :) just love everything about it but would have to change the flag if I stitched for me ;0 It reminds me of one of the hymns I used to sing with the phrase "my dwelling place" would love to stitch it and have it in my stitching room as that defo is my dwelling place ..lol .. love mouse xxxx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on #100!!
ReplyDeleteThe design speaks to me because of the flag--which, even though I'm living overseas at the moment, the USA is the dwelling place of my heart.
Congrats on your 100th chart! I love the colors in it and I, too, love the flag in this design. I have an Americana living room and it would look nicely in there.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance!
Tanya
Love it and all your designs. It reminds me of the style of the Shaker House I stayed in for a fall retreat.
ReplyDeleteTeresa's Heartfelt Stitches
Diane,
ReplyDeleteAnother great design. I just love your designs. I am working on one in between the model I am stitching. This new design in on my wish list already. I just love the shaker/americana feel to it. Thanks for another wonderful chart. ~~ Christie, Batavia, OH
What a wonderful design! I love any designs that depict Patriotic or Americana designs. And if the design has a house, it makes it even more special. After all what is better than a home and Americana! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeletePam
The design reminds me of a place I grew up I can be safe in I miss this house please enter me in your contest thanks Donna
ReplyDeleteluvmyqsnaps@yahoo.com
I was drawn in by the title and then I saw the design. Just beautiful. I ,also, love the fact that it is done over one thread. Thanks for chance.
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful design. My husband of 46 years is retired military. We have moved over 30 times during his career. Each moved was our family "dwelling place" at the time and we always proudly displayed our flag. Actually the house is similiar to one we lived in. Thanks for reminding me of all the great places we have lived!!
ReplyDeleteTake care.

Wow! Congrats on #100! I really love how this piece offers such a sense of serenity.

Love your design 100! The title and house in it remind me of my house which is my dwelling place. The little bird is really cute, too.
ReplyDeleteI love #100! It has all my favorite things - a flag, crow, house, tree and flowers. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI really love that design. First of all, I love houses and I love the colors. My home is my dwelling place where I always feel comfortable with my own favorite chair and stitching room. Whenever I'm away from home, I look forward to getting back with all my familiar things.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 100th pattern! I don't know how you do it, designing so many uniquely different patterns, but I do love them all! Please sign me up for your contest! *Hugs*
ReplyDeleteWhat another great little design, Diane! The 100th is a celebration of having known and enjoyed not only your talents, but your friendship. You have added so much to my life and not just with your patterns. I have truly enjoyed getting to know the wonderful person and family behind the name.
ReplyDeleteMy dwelling place is just perfect. It's a Beautiful design. The colors blend well together & who wouldn't adore the addition of the flag -
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a keeper ;)
Beautiful design, love it!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 100th design!
Hugs,
Thanks for another beautiful design. The image makes me think of the importance of home and that the home is in the US - even better!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for continuing to design such wonderful charts. Please add me to the draw. Thank you so much for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI would love to stitch this one, as I would change the date to the number of the first apartment that DH and I ever shared. It's literally a one number difference from the date! :)
My home is my safe haven. In it I surround myself with all the things that I love. First and foremost is my stitching and this design would be hung in my entryway along with your Home of A Needleworker Too. There is not a better way to show people what I'm all about!
ReplyDeleteI would love a chance to win a copy of your 100th design! Please enter my name into your draw and thanks for the opportunity.
Love your charts. This one speaks to me as I am on my own for the first time in my life. So I'm making my house my own home. This would be a wonderful tribute to my first Home of my own.
ReplyDeletecliane@uslink.net
Congrats on your 100th design!
ReplyDeleteI like everything about it.
The house, tree, crow, flowers.
It all "fits"!
And the stars on the frame add a lot.
Marilyn
Thank you for a chance to win this, I have so many of your patterns waiting to be stitched. I love the Dwelling Place, it reminds me so much of home.
ReplyDeleteHi Diane, congratulations on your "100th" pattern, and like all of your designs, elegance and heart show through, along with a gentle sophistication.
ReplyDeleteLiBBiE in Oz

This is a meaningful "small design" that would fit in my home that is for sure my special place. I love designs with houses but the flag is special to me too. I have even added one to designs that don't have a little flag somewhere. Congrats on celebrating 100th in this series of designs...they are all special!
ReplyDeleteWe love your work and the heart you put into each design. pj from iowa pjstitcher@mchsi.com
Lovely design! I love the little bird and house and, well, all of it. My SO is closing on his first home at the end of the month, a home we are both hoping will be 'ours' someday soon... so the notion of 'my dwelling place' has a special bit of excitement to it right now!
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous design. And indeed it would be meaningful to me. I think it will be meaningful to most people. One's home is a special place. A place with happy memories, a place to feel safe, to look forward to come home to after a day being away.
ReplyDeleteHi Diane,
ReplyDeleteLove the new design as it contains many design elements that I like. The home, a flag, a bird and the flowers and stars. I would probably change the date to the year that my husband and I were married as that is also the year that we bought our first house.

You have created another wonderful design and I love so many of them. I am a sucker for any piece with a house, but I also love the flag, the bird, and the flower urn. Thank you for the opportunity to win this fabulous chart.
ReplyDeleteladybug8@bellsouth.net
The phrase 'my dwelling place' is evocative of the schoolgirl samplers which I like so much and the motifs of home, garden, and country continue the warm feeling.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute design !!! I can see how it has so much meaning. I am such a homebody that my home is truly where I dwell. It is my refuge and the place where I can rest, enjoy my family, my doggies, my stitching and be myself.
ReplyDeleteAs always is it a beautiful design. I love my home, I love cocooning.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Mireille
I love the little bird sitting under the tree.

ReplyDeleteI don't know if you know what they say about a country song - has something about Moma, a train, getting drunk, etc. Well, what I have to say about the perfect cross stitch piece - it has a bird, some stars, a flag, and usually a house! I can't wait to add this to my collection of your designs - especially since it's number 100! Thanks for the chance to win it!!

Diane, This is a gorgeous pattern and I would love to be included in your drawing. Congrats on your "100"! Meredith
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 100th design. I've recently developed a "thing" for blackbirds (hopefully it's because of the family that's moved into our woods and not some deep seated psychological issue) and have been wish listing patterns with them. This went on my wish list as soon as I saw it.
ReplyDeleteThere is no place like home! Love the design and colors. Thank-you for a chance!
ReplyDeleteLynn

Congratulations on #100! It is a beautiful pattern. It reminds me of our little tiny piece of our world, which is our haven.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations - 100 beautiful designs! Look forward to the next 100. How can you not love a design with a house, stars and a blackbird!
ReplyDeleteLove the design....home sweet home! :D
ReplyDeleteMy Dwelling Place...America...we've got our problems and we're not perfect, but it is my home and I think it's the best country in the world. When I was 17 I was a People-to-People Student Ambassador. It really taught me to appreciate what we have here in the United States of America! Bonnie H.
ReplyDeleteI love this design - I really love all your designs. I'm drawn to them. My Dwelling Place is my home and family and all that it entails. Thanks for doing this giveaway.

After purchasing my first house about 10 years ago, I started to collect and stitch samplers both large and small with houses in them. I really like this current pattern. Thank you for the opportunity to win this chart. I think it would look wonderful to welcome my guests to my home. I have a couple small house samplers at my front door and this would just be perfect to add to these.
ReplyDeleteAnother "must have" design. Congratulations on your 100th design, they are all amazing! I already have ideas on how to personalize this for my dwelling.
ReplyDeletekathyarowlands@gmail.com
What a huge accomplishment...100! I love birds in anything, so incorporating a bird into the design is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteDiane, Your design made me think how thankful I am for my home and how much I love it. I am a homebody and this design says that in a much lovlier way for me.
ReplyDeletePaula

Hi Diane - I love the vintage look to this piece, and it'll seem even more so stitched over one on 18 or 20 ct linen! The flag reminds me of my school days in the little town I grew up in....
ReplyDeleteTedra, Phoenix, AZ
trsamcat@cox.net
Hi! I love the look of this - it's very colonial and will look wonderful in the entry way of the 1905 Colonial we purchased in 2009. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDelete~Kat
Such a beautiful design, as all of your designs are. Congratulations on your 100th design, I cannot wait to stitch it.
ReplyDeleteDiane! When I saw this piece, I knew I'd have to add it to my collection! It is a sweet mixture of patriotic with folk art (love the crow?!). I already have many of your designs, and look forward to stitching this one!
ReplyDeleteI really like the colors and tones in this piece. Love the black bird in the corner.
ReplyDeleteLove this pattern and love your creative style keep up the great work!Karen
ReplyDeleteLove this new design. The colour of the house is awesome. A really relaxing looking picture.
ReplyDeleteI too love this design - its simply 'home' x
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful piece and for me it has two meanings. One, the flag reminds me that I am dwelling in a free country. The cost of freedom is a high price and some are not fortunate enough to have the luxury of freedom as we do in the USA. Second, the house reminds me of my own little home that contains my most treasured gifts here on earth, my husband Benjamin and my daughter Angel. Whenever I look at this chart I will think of these blessings and know that I am rich.
ReplyDeleteCharity C.

When I am quickly now, I will be comment No 100 to your pattern no 100.
ReplyDeleteI am impressed of all your charts!
Go on like that!

All of your charts are fabulous...can't wait to put my needle to this one! This pattern screams home, family, patriotism...
ReplyDeleteBusy Hands...Happy Heart
Patricia
PS On a silly note...I'm glad I don't have to wash all those windows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This saying reminds me of my house of 21 years. We are downsizing and I am having a hard time leaving my dwelling. It would be a good compaion to the one I stitched in 1990 when we first came to live in our new home.
ReplyDeleteMelinda
What an adorable piece! It has all the things I personally love and the saying is sweet too.
ReplyDeleteLove the design. Makes me think about how special our homes are to us and those who inhabit them.
ReplyDeleteAnother must have Diane!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 100th design.
Beautiful design! It will be a picture for my future home! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful design-house, flag, bird! Thanks for patterns to fill lots of stitching hours.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the big 100 and what a generous give-away! I love the Americana theme of this particular design and the warm thread colors you used throughout makes the overall piece stunning! I am a huge fan of your designs and - win or lose - "My Dwelling Place" will definitely be dwelling in home this year.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your wonderful gift of "design" with those who love to stitch!

ReplyDeleteIneke Platvoet from Holland
Congrats on your 100th designs. They are always lovely!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the 100th! I have been collecting "house" sampler patterns and can't wait to add this one to the mix. If you don't mind I might add my current house address to the bottom line. Thanks for all you do!
ReplyDeleteLisa from Austin
Fo me, my dwelling place is our countryside house in the Limousin, in France. Why? because it is synonym of holidays, English friends who own nearly the village !!!, Summer, the apple tree under which I stitch ...
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the patriotic feeling in "my dwelling place". Personally, I always like to hear the birds sing & have a potted plant or two outside my door, so this is how I interpret your design. No matter what the subject, every one of your designs is enjoyable - thank you!
ReplyDeleteCathlyn
Love the new design and so fitting for your #100. Please enter me into the giveaway. Thanks
ReplyDeleteLove the design. Our home is our refuge in the woods. Please enter me in the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI love house samplers! And the flag makes it even more special. thanks for the chance to win it.
ReplyDeleteDiane,
ReplyDeleteHappy Dance...doin' the 100th chart happy dance!! What an accomplishment! Every time you release a new design it's my new favorite LHN design, and then another comes out and I say "I love it..I have to have it, it's my new favorite"....fickle fickle!! LOL!! So....that being said...when I saw this one, I loved it...got to have it......it has so many of my favorite things, birds, flags, house, flowers, and stars..what's not to love? Congrats on your 100th pattern and may there be many many more and I promise they will be my favorite..
Connie
