February Update!

Yes, I know how long it has been since I last updated this blog!  Those close to me know how busy I've been and all that I've been involved in lately. . . . . it's all good. . . . promise!  OK . . . . so let's see what we have to talk about.  The first is a bit of news regarding the change we made to February releases.  You were expecting Louisa B. Snow this month and instead you are seeing the Spring Band Sampler.  Louisa (if she behaves herself) will come out next month.

The Summer Sampler will be out in a few months, completing the set of four seasonal band samplers. Winter and Autumn are available for purchase now and can be viewed on the LHN web site.

Next is the second ornament of the month in 2012, "Tree Farm".  As a child I remember hunting for the perfect tree in "lots" that sold them by the hundreds.  Choosing one from a tree farm would be far more challenging but fun!

The fabric is Tin Roof Gingham from Weeks Dye Works but it isn't showing up well in the photo at all.  Trust me when I say this looks great on the check fabric!!!  I will be updating the main web site within the week but be patient with me please!  I have had nothing but trouble with browser compatibility and the site and it is giving me a lot of trouble (and headaches).

Other things. . . . . .My oldest grandchild, Juliet turned 10 this month.  Nikki and Derrick threw her a wonderful party and we all, especially Juliet, had a great time.

Arizona turned 100 yesterday!  Jessie Bell - Arizona Territory was last month's release to celebrate the event.  It can be seen below this post.

And lastly, you all know of the tragedy that Tucson, Arizona, and the country experienced a year ago last January.  I photographed the stone memorial at Safeway for all of you to see.

I will be updating this blog no later than Saturday the 25th of this month with a special surprise.  I'm sorry but I can't give any hints. . . . just stay tuned!

Happy Stitching,
Diane

  2. I'm glad there's a new blog entry. Missed reading them.
I just love that Spring band sampler and the tree farm is also very nice. I too "hunt" each year for the best tree I can find and bigger ... because with all the ornaments of you in it, the tree has to be larger and larger to fit them all in :-)
Congrats with Juliet and the cake (I think make by your daughter) is just stunning !!

  4. Your designs are cue as ever. I really like the ornament series, and get excited about what the next one will be. Great job on the Tree Farm. I went to tree lots too when I was growing up, since moving to Maine I am surrounded by tree farms. The hubby and I have decided to get a live tree for 2012 and enjoy the tree farm experience. I will need to order this pattern to mark this holiday adventure.

  7. The new designs are all so beautiful! Those band samplers are so fun to stitch!

When we lived in MI, we'd go every year to pick out a tree from a tree farm. They'd take you out to where the trees were growing on a wagon pulled by horse and there was a Santa and Mrs. Santa waiting for your return in a little building where they'd serve you hot chocolate. Oh! And they had reindeer in a little pen. The kids loved the machines they used to shake off the loose needles and then to bind the tree in a mesh so it would be easier to transport home.

Juliet's party looks like it was so fun. Nikki is so creative!

I'm glad to see there's a memorial at the Safeway where those awful shootings occurred.

  8. The new designs are wonderful! I can't wait to get my hands on the Spring Band Sampler. The new ornament reminds me of our trips to the tree farm with my sons. It's been many years since we've been but it was always something we looked forward to as a family.

  10. I really like the colors on the Spring Band Sampler. I didn't see the thread colors listed on the website. Would you mind sharing those? Like to be ready to order pattern and colors needed at the same time. Thanks you so very much! Just love your work!
