Earthquake

Well, we don't live in California (I'm in Tucson, AZ) so I never thought I'd actually experience what an earthquake felt like.  Even though it was just a mild rumble and the only thing visible in the house to indicate it was happening was a swaying light fixture, it's still too close for me!  My chair was shaking slightly and it seemed the computer screen was jiggling.  Then my mom called and said the couch was shaking.  That's when I looked at the light fixture and it was swinging.  The pulls on the ceiling fans were swaying back and forth too.  So many earthquakes. . . . . .  .here, there, and everywhere.

  3. I was a little shocked when I felt the rumble. I never thought I would feel an earthquake in Arizona. I believe that this would be classified as a divers place according to the Bible.

  6. Must have been scary.

We don't really get them here in the UK and when we do they are the same as you just experienced. We had one a little more powerful a year or so ago and I can honestly say it never woke me but there were tales on the news of chimney pots falling from roofs etc.

  7. I can imagine that it was frightning. We had a few years back a light earthquake here in Netherlands.

  8. What a coincidence, after one year exactly the earthquake here.
Who experiences a major earthquake never forget it, so I can easily understand your feelings.
The worst thing is the perception of movement under feet, this sensation hasn't left me for months.
    Big hugs,
    Veronica

  10. Wow, that sure must have been a scary experience. At least I know I would have been scared. I have never lived through one. Hurricanes and wicked nor'easters are bad enough. :) I think I'll stay east . :)
