Summer Buzz. . . . . .

Tomorrow is the first day of summer. . . . . . hot days and nights, family get-aways and re-runs on TV.  So what do you stitch?  Do you sit down with small projects, pull out larger ones, stitch for Christmas, or work on whatever your heart desires?

Before I became a designer, everything I stitched was huge.  I spent hundreds of hours stitching and then framing large pieces for my walls.  But since those days I've found a real love for small pieces that sit tucked into a bookshelf, or rest on a tabletop propped on an easel. 

Queen Bee was released a few years ago but I thought I'd bring her out to celebrate the start of summer.  However I do think the official start of summer in Arizona should be moved up since we've had 100 degree days for weeks now!

Relax and enjoy your summer stitching. . . . . . whatever it happens to be!

    Hi Diane I hope you and yours are well. I tend to stitch Christmas ornaments most of the summer. The holiday season is too hectic for me to sit and stitch so I take these lazy hot summer days to stitch up a dozen or so ornaments. Plus they are small and portable to take to the beach or on picnics.

    I mostly enjoy stitching on Christmas ornaments and projects. I like warm days, but not the hot ones, so I have been known to put the Christmas music in the cd player at home and/or in the car in July and August =)

    Since my kids are small, I love quick and easy things to stitch! Both my Mom and I love to stitch your designs, I prefer the small ones where my Mom loves your larger charts. I'm hoping to finish lots of smalls over the Summer!

    I usually do a large piece and then a couple of small ones to "rest" my mind. It's really hot here (SW Florida) in the summer, so a good time to stay inside and stitch!

    I love stitching the big ones but lately have been stitching a lot of small projects. It really feels good to finish something.

    I keep several projects going - one long term stitch and one or more smaller ones that are seasonal in nature. With 4th of July coming up, I'm going to start a patriotic stitch. The nice thing is that the smaller projects can go with me to office visits, stitch group, etc.

    I would have to say I probably do a mix of projects - I usually have one or two large projects on the go, and mix it up with a few smaller projects at the same time. Summer or winter, it doesn't really matter, I still stitch what's screaming the loudest at the time :P
