I love Americana designs and have quite a few in the LHN pattern inventory. This month's "Freedom House" is in keeping with a style I started ten years ago whereby two saltbox houses face one another. You may remember Two Red Houses, Two Blue Houses, Two White Houses and lastly, Two Yellow Houses.

Next is a really fun pieces called "Louise and Henry," designed to compliment "Bessie" who is the milk cow released last year. (She's a favorite of mine.)
Louise and Henry |
Louise is the sheep and Henry is the crow. Or at least that's how I see them.
Last this month is the Calendar Girl, June.

May brought the flowers that attracted the June bees!
July is right around the corner. Growing up, there was a saying about July that stuck in my head while I was designing that girl. Can you guess what it was? Not sure how many people read blogs these days vs. Facebook so we'll see if there are any responses.
Vonna sent me photos of the last four Calendar Girls. All I can say is F-A-V-O-R-I-T-E-S! I guess in my opinion it's saving the best for last!
Of course I hope you like them all but there is something special about those four girls!
A friend helped me figure out how to add a search box onto the LHN web site. Go check it out when you are there the next time!
I will be stitching this weekend....I hope you will be too!

Love Freedom House and can't wait to add it to my collection! Have no clue about the saying, but do look forward to seeing the July Girl.

I just love Louise and Henry, too cute!
ReplyDeleteMy dad used to say that corn needed to be knee-high by 2th of July! Paula
ReplyDeleteGreat designs - especially like the Freedom houses!
ReplyDeleteOh that sheep is too cute for words!
ReplyDeleteWhen growing corn, the farmer hoped it would be knee high by the 4th of July as a sign that the crop would be good. And I have not joined Facebook, so I will happily continue to read your blog.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. Really like Freedom House...perfect for a summer stitch.
ReplyDeleteLove Henry & Louise, can't wait for the designs to come to England.

ReplyDeleteOnce again beautiful designs adding to the buy list!
ReplyDeleteCorn needs to be knee high by the fourth of July! I remember hearing that when i was a kid. Love your designs!
ReplyDeleteI like your Freedom Houses! I too, love patriotic pieces, not sure why, but could be because my birthday is near July 4. Yes, here in Midwest we say corn has to be knee high by the 4th of July.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your designs! The Calendar Girls are so cute - hard to imagine that the last 4 are even cuter - looks forward to seeing them too.
ReplyDeleteYep....knee high by the 4th of July! Just a hint as to the theme of the July Calendar Girl!
ReplyDeleteI use Facebook, but seeing your posts on Facebook seems to be a matter of chance. Rarely do you make it to my feed, and I never have enough time to check out all of my fb friends on their sites.
ReplyDeleteI love Freedom House. I have to get it.
Thanks for still taking care of all of us "not-Facebook" Stitchers. I love your blog and I can hardly wait to stitch the new cow. I was hoping for something to keep " MILK" company!!! Love the new Americana too. Can you design more stitching time in our days too?!!!!
ReplyDeleteKnee high by the 4th of July
