Hometown Holiday - a Duo!

I am so excited to share a photo of cube #2 with you. . . . "Main Street Station."  I placed it with "My House", the first design that will be getting into shops soon.  This is not the photo of the pattern cover, just a peek at what they look like together.

"Caroling Quartet" is the third design and will be followed by a Sweet Shop.  I'm stitching that one now!  I'm thinking some ceramic trees places around the cubes  would look really nice.  :)

We will ship "Main Street Station" in the middle of March.

Diane

Diane, I love these! I have a question for you, if I may. I have glaucoma and it is very difficult for me to stitch on linen anymore. Can you suggest a comparable fabric? Thank you!

    1. Charlotte I have heard of a few aida woven fabrics that may work for you. The one I am leaning toward though is this one: http://www.123stitch.com/cgi-perl/itemdetail.pl?item=123-2677Y The web site says linen aida and the DMC equivalent is 3864. What do you think? Would the white show up?

Thank you, Diane. I will check this out. Linen is such a beautiful choice for cross stitch, but it is impossible for me . . . perhaps this will be a good substitution. :- )

  6. Hi Diane,
I think this will be a lovely series!
We all like Disney a lot (the French - Paris version as we live in Europe) and it made me think of the Main Street Station :-).
Will be adding this one to my stash :-).
    Kind greetings,
    Ann

    1. Thank you. . . . and not sure on the question about the books. More are on the drawing board but it's a matter of timing in our ability to produce them.

  12. This is such a unique series and I'm loving it so much! I can already picture a display of these at Christmas. I have some bottle brush trees that would look wonderful placed between the cubes. Are you using the same fabric for the backing on all of your cubes?
I'm really looking forward to the Caroling Quartet!

    1. I agree with bottle brush trees. . . . . very nice! I've used different fabrics for the backs and I'm doing them with different bows. Of course bows are optional. . . . I just wanted them to look like little presents. :)

    1. Carin. . . . .go slow and use a serrated knife (it has teeth). Score the top first to create your cutting line. From that point on I stick the knife in vertically and go up and down. When it gets closer to getting cut all of the way through I go back to using the knife horizontally. Patience is the key. If you rush the cutting it will crack off and create indents. Hope this helps.

    2. Thanks Diane, I will give it a try. Hope I can do it right.

    3. Remember to just go slow!

  19. Love this series. I am on "automatic" at my LNS, but haven't started stitching them yet. My question, and I hope I'm not repeating one that has already been asked, is will all the designs be stitched on the same color and count linen?

Thanks for answering everyone's questions and offering suggestions.

    1. If I understand the question. . . you are asking how many charts there will be in the series? That I do not know. It is an ongoing series that I hope will last a number of years.

    1. I'm not sure this is a good idea. I have tried to keep the design sizes relative to one another but they are not exact. Wait before making that decision.
