Gracie update and announcement

Yesterday Gracie went to the groomer and had her first ever professional bath and trim.  She looks so cute! It turned out so well that we're thinking it may become a regular event with her.  I'm not saying she liked it though.  When we arrived she looked like she had pretty much had it with all of the "attention" she was getting.  She smells good too if you like the way dogs smell after a bath.  :)

Now on to other things. . . . . . Social media has changed a lot in our industry over the years.  We have taken advantage of two of those avenues for a while now.   Because posts are being duplicated in three spots we're switching things up a bit.

1.)  The blog is remaining but it will only be used for chats, how-to's or important announcements and of course, pictures of Gracie.  You will no longer see images of new releases here unless there is a special story or how-to attached to the design.

2.)  Facebook (where we have over 2200 followers) will be the spot where we release the new photos of upcoming patterns.
If you don't have a Facebook account and don't want one, don't worry.  Patterns will still be on our regular web site so you won't miss a thing.

3.)  The LHN web site will continue to function as it has but we will be adding more pages with information such as supply sources for the materials used in our patterns.

Moving on. . . . . . many of you probably saw the news release from Crescent Colours the other day regarding the change they made regarding sole distributorship of their products to Hoffman Distributing.  If you didn't, this is news to you!  Anyway, this included the thread packed "kits" that Little House and Country Cottage did for them.  They are still available but instead of getting them from Crescent Colours you are ordering from Hoffman.

Happy Stitching,
Diane

  1. Gracie looks beautiful. There's nothing like that just groomed look and smell, but I have to also admit that I love the way our Woody looks shaggy, too. I understand your reasoning and doing away with all the time it takes for triplicate posts, but I'm going to miss the new pattern sneak peeks!

  2. We started taking our dogs to the groomer this year and I love how clean and handsome they look! I'm sorry you won't be using the blog to update your patterns. I don't "do" Facebook and I check my blogs every day, but I guess I'll just have to find your website and get in the habit of checking it. Thanks for the heads up.

  3. Gracie is a beautiful dog. She looks like she knows she's pretty. I'm going to miss the pattern sneak peaks too, I do have a facebook account so will check yours.

  4. It is totally possible to create a Facebook account for the sole purpose of keeping up to date with favorite designers (there are many on FB), getting coupons from manufactures, and signing into your favorite news program. You can be as social as you want to be and as private as you need to be. The wonderful thing about FB is that everyone is using it on their computers, tablets and phones, making it much easier for all of us to keep up to date with news and changes.

And remember, the blog isn't going away. . . . it's just taking on a different role in the business.

Thank you all for your support!

  5. i have a question about the finishing on "Hen Party". what kind of foam are you talking about and what is the thickness? denise[cheermom1954@aol.com]

  6. Styrofoam was used. As far as thickness goes, I can't be sure as the piece is packed away. I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

  7. I would just like to point out that only about 20% of subscribers to a Facebook page will see the posts, regardless of whether the "show in news feed" option is checked or not. This is just the way Facebook works.

  9. Gracie looks wonderful! But I too don't do facebook, have a page, don't use it, hate it actually, can't even remember why I have one, and haven't been near it in months if not years. Fully understand not wanting to double or triple up on posts. Will miss previews, and sneak peaks, but Gracie will keep me coming back.

Blogging is how I found LHN, not your website, not facebook, fellow bloggers showing your wonderful designs, and finding you in their blog rolls.

  10. I don't like Facebook either, I find it very messy and overloaded with unneeded information..I think blog is a much better place to go and find out what's new..

Wish you would reconsider. Have no desire to go anywhere near facebook.

  12. I just want to say again, that the web site will have the new pattern pictures so no one will be missing a thing. If you aren't on Facebook or don't want to be, that's ok. Simply visit the LHN web site between the 15th and 19th of the month to see new patterns. It's the way we did things when we first went into business.

Facebook can be a little tricky when you first set out to learn it, that's for sure! I'm just saying that if it isn't for you. . . . . . no worries. Pattern photos will still be available!

  13. Sadly to hear that you won't be showing any sneak peeks here at your blog. I too love to visit blogs... it so much fun. I don't like facebook at all, I only have that for playing one game I like. FB is so overwhelmed with post of others that you don't want to read.
The other thing I like about blogs is that you always can find new post in your reader and that doesn't work with FB, so when you want to now if someone post something you must everyone visit to see if there are new post. No fun for me.

    BTW Gracie looks great !!
